New Product Releases 2-15-20

As we finish our own quilt projects they will come on our site for sale.  Some of the products are one-of-a-kind, others may no longer have the same fabric as when they were made, but you can commission me to make one for you.

The first quilt pictured below is titled “Raspberry Lime Rickey”, a pattern by Joyce Lundrigan.  For more information on the quilt, simply click on the image and you will be taken to the product page.  The interesting point about this quilt is that a Naples show attendee from Canada saw this quilt and wondered if she could make the quilt exactly as displayed but have me quilt it for her.  Well, the answer was yes, yes I can! I love to be commissioned to make special quilts! While living on Kaua, I was commissioned to create a quilt based off one of my wall art quilts called “Calm Waters”.  If you want a quilt made, please don’t hesitate to ask! We can determine if your request is possible.

The second quilt pictured is called “Charmed” and was a big hit at the 2020 Ft. Myers show.  Many of the people passing by my vendor booth saw this quilt as the table topper where all our marketing material rested.  As I sold a quilt from the back wall, I quickly took this off the table and hung it so that someone might purchase it.  Well, no takers this time, but it will be at the Naples show and for sale here on my site.  On a side note this is a quilt pattern by Jenny Doan of Missouri Star Quilt Company, whom I had the privilege of meeting while living on Kauai during a retreat with her.  She is as fun and down to earth in person as she is on YouTube.

The third quilt pictured is titled “Seaside Strip” and features fabric from Pineapple Fabrics.  Every so often I like to make a quilt with beach objects, but more along the line of contemporary design and muted colors.

The last quilt is a wall art quilt from a panel that I call “Cheers”.  You know – one can get really parched on a beach in Naples just as much as you can in Hanalei, Anini, Poipu, or one of many beaches we found ourselves on Kauai.

Many people have asked Eddie and me whether quilts are needed in Hawaii or Florida, and the answer is a definite YES.  Once we had a polar vortex hit Kauai and the night time low got down to 59 degrees.  Now you think we are crazy but when the forecast is usually 84/77 every single day, a 17 degree drop is cold, especially if you live in shorts and run around like Tarzan with no shoes.  Here in Naples, you definitely need a lap quilt when sitting by the pool on your covered lanai from November to March.  It gets cooler here and those pesky no-see-ums filter through the high dollar, no-see-um mesh to bite any exposed flesh or kamikaze into our wine glasses.  Oh, the bother!

That’s the scoop on our current product announcements.  What can I make for you?
